Goblin Attack
With the end of January comes time for another update—this time it's version 0.5.4.
A new convenience has been introduced: saving and loading in every game mode from beds, which can be found in various buildings.
The horde combat system has been improved, which involved optimizing the spawner performance. Today, in the open world, you can fight even 30 enemies without any FPS drops.
We'll continue refining this system, though. The combat system itself has also been polished—it's smoother now, and the difficulty level has been balanced.
Keep in mind, however, that this is still an early version, and development work on these systems will continue for a very long time.
That said, we can already call today's combat a success: it's smooth and enjoyable, both in open areas and indoors.
Version 0.5.4 also introduces a new enemy—the Basic Goblin (or Goblin Servant, if you prefer). Gotta admit, it's an annoying little bastard that attacks quickly and nimbly.
Goblins rarely travel alone; they usually show up in larger groups, making them a serious threat.
Thalor Valley now has a new location: the mill and the miller's house. Unfortunately, the miller himself... won't be appearing in one piece this time :/
He got dismembered by creatures from Grimthar. Oh well, maybe in future versions we'll breathe more life into him...
Though as a corpse, he adds plenty of dark atmosphere already... So maybe we'll just add more blood.
In any case, come visit the miller's house! ;)
